Frequently Asked Questions

General

What is VibeLevel?

VibeLevel is an AI collaboration platform with three core products: Aura (discover your AI working style from real sessions), Teams (build AI skills at scale for enterprises), and Hiring (recruit with AI-native assessments). Unlike platforms that ban AI, we measure and develop how effectively people work with AI to deliver results.

What is Aura?

Aura analyzes your real AI sessions (from Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Claude Desktop, etc.) and scores your collaboration style across 5 dimensions: Prompting, AI Collaboration, Product Thinking, Design Sense, and You vs AI. Connect the MCP Connector to your AI agent, then ask "score this session" — you'll get your Aura profile, level, archetype, and leaderboard ranking in 5 minutes. Free tier includes 20 sessions/month.

Is my code and data private?

Yes. Everything is redacted on your machine before it's sent. We never see your full prompts, files, or transcripts — whether you're coding or writing. Only truncated excerpts, file names (not contents), and your collaboration signals are submitted for scoring. Your Aura data is private unless you choose to share your profile publicly. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How is my Aura score calculated?

Aura analyzes your real AI sessions and scores you 0-10 on 5 dimensions: Prompting (clarity and intent), AI Collaboration (steering and iteration), Product Thinking (outcome focus), Design Sense (craft and detail), and You vs AI (human contribution). Your overall Aura score is a weighted average. Scores map to levels (Emerging, Capable, Strong, Exceptional) and archetypes (e.g., The Collaborator, The Director, The Architect).

What are the Aura levels?

Based on your overall Aura score: Emerging (0-3) — getting started, leaning on the AI; Capable (3-6) — solid collaboration, steering the work; Strong (6-8) — high-craft pairing with clear intent; Exceptional (8-10) — peak human-AI collaboration, the AI is a pure force-multiplier. Your level is displayed on your public Aura profile and leaderboard.

For Individuals & Builders

How do I get started with Aura?

Sign up at vibelevel.ai, install the MCP Connector from the Aura dashboard settings, connect it to your AI agent (Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, etc.), and start working. When you finish a session, ask your agent "score this session" — you'll get your Aura profile in 5 minutes. Free tier includes 20 sessions/month.

Which AI agents does Aura support?

Aura works with Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code Copilot, Claude Desktop, Windsurf, Codex, Perplexity, and other MCP-compatible agents. Install the MCP Connector once, then use Aura across all your agents.

What commands can I use with Aura?

Ask your AI agent: "score this session" (score the session you just finished), "aura whoami" (confirm connection + account), "import my recent history" (bootstrap Aura from past sessions), "show my profile" (view your score and archetype), "show my strengths" (see top dimensions), "show my progress" (trends and personal bests).

Can I share my Aura profile?

Yes! Your Aura profile is shareable on LinkedIn, your portfolio, and job applications. Go to your Aura dashboard and toggle "Public Profile" to generate a shareable link. Your profile shows your level, archetype, dimension scores, and leaderboard rank.

Can I use Aura when applying for jobs?

Yes — when you apply to jobs through VibeLevel Hiring, you can optionally share your Aura profile with the hiring team. If the company is using VibeLevel for recruitment, you will take a job-specific assessment in our Web IDE, but your Aura profile can supplement your application to show your proven AI collaboration skills.

How does the leaderboard work?

The Aura leaderboard ranks all users by overall Aura score (0-10). You can filter by coding vs. writing sessions, and see where you stand globally. Top performers are highlighted and can opt into talent pipeline visibility for hiring partners.

What's the difference between coding and writing sessions?

Aura detects whether you're coding (building software, scripts, APIs) or writing (docs, briefs, content). Both use the same 5 dimensions but with modality-specific archetypes: coding archetypes (The Collaborator, The Architect, The Craftsperson) vs. writing archetypes (The Co-writer, The Strategist, The Wordsmith).

What is VibeLevel Campus?

VibeLevel Campus is designed for universities and colleges. Students with .edu emails compete in campus-wide Vibeathons (timed coding events), earn Aura scores and levels, and climb the cohort leaderboard. Top performers are surfaced to hiring partners through our talent pipeline.

How do Campus Vibeathons work?

Campus Coordinators (professors, career services staff) create and schedule Vibeathons with multiple coding tracks. Students register, compete in the Web IDE during the event window, and get AI-scored across multiple dimensions. Results appear on the live cohort leaderboard.

I'm a coordinator — how do I run a Vibeathon?

From the Campus Admin dashboard, import your student roster via CSV (emails with .edu domains are auto-detected), create a Vibeathon with one or more coding tracks, set the time window, and publish. During the event, watch the live leaderboard and review flagged sessions. After, export rankings to share with hiring partners or internally.

Can students use Aura outside of Vibeathons?

Yes! Campus students can use Aura anytime by connecting the MCP Connector to their AI agents. Aura sessions score their real coding/writing work and contribute to their overall Aura level (Emerging → Exceptional). Vibeathon scores are separate but use the same scoring engine.

For Teams (Enterprise)

What is VibeLevel Teams?

VibeLevel Teams is an enterprise product for building AI collaboration skills at scale. When you sign up with your work email, you join (or create) your company's Team Organization. Teams includes company-wide Aura (track workforce AI skill development), shared challenge libraries, org-wide leaderboards, Team Vibethons (internal competitions), and admin oversight for L&D and engineering leaders.

How do I join my company's team?

Sign up or log in with your work email (not Gmail, Yahoo, etc.). If your company already has a Team Org, you'll be prompted to request access. If not, you can create your company's Org and become the first admin. Public email domains cannot create Team Orgs.

What are Team Vibethons?

Team Vibethons are timed, multi-track coding events run by your organization's admins. Think internal hackathons or skill assessments across your engineering team. All submissions appear on your org-wide leaderboard, and admins can review flagged sessions and export rankings.

What can Team Admins do?

Team Admins can create and manage Team Vibethons, curate a shared challenge library for the organization, manage team members, review submissions across all vibethons, and view the org-wide leaderboard. Org Admins have full access; Team Admins can be scoped to specific teams.

How is Teams different from Campus?

Teams is for companies (work email), Campus is for universities (.edu email). Teams focuses on workforce AI skill development with Aura and internal L&D; Campus focuses on student competitions (Vibeathons) and talent pipeline to hiring partners. Both use Aura scoring and the same core platform.

For Hiring Teams

What are the two modes for Hiring?

VibeLevel Hiring has two modes: Individual and Enterprise. Individual mode is for solo hiring managers or small teams — create assessments, invite candidates, and review submissions on your own. Enterprise mode is for organizations with multiple hiring managers — create a shared Organization, collaborate on assessment templates, invite team members, and get admin oversight across all hiring activity. Both modes use the same assessment creation flow and scoring system.

How do I create an assessment?

Go to Hiring > Assessments > Create New. Follow the 4-step process: Choose a template, configure evaluation criteria and job details, test the assessment yourself, then publish and share with candidates.

What access modes are available?

Three options: • Open Link: Anyone with the URL can take it — paste it into your job posting or ATS • Invite Only: Email-invite specific candidates — each gets their own secure link • Application Form: Candidates apply first, auto-filtered by your criteria, then approved applicants get the assessment

How does auto-filtering work?

Set criteria like minimum experience, education level, maximum salary, and required locations. When candidates apply, those who don't meet your criteria are automatically filtered out — only qualifying candidates receive the assessment.

How do I manage candidates after they complete the assessment?

View all submissions in Hiring > Submissions. Each candidate gets an AI-generated score across multiple dimensions. You can then Shortlist or Reject candidates directly from the candidate detail page.

Can I test the assessment before sending it to candidates?

Yes — Step 3 of the assessment creation flow lets you take the assessment yourself in Test Mode. Your test session is completely isolated and doesn't create any candidate records.

What is an Organization and how do I create one?

Organizations are for hiring teams that want to collaborate. If you have a corporate email (not Gmail, Yahoo, etc.), go to your Account page and create an Organization. One organization exists per email domain — if your company already has one, you'll see a banner to request access from your team admin.

How do I invite team members to my hiring organization?

Organization Admins can invite team members from the Account page under the "Organization" section. Add members by entering their corporate email (must match your organization's email domain). They'll receive a notification email and be immediately added — no acceptance required. You can assign them as Admin (HR oversight) or Member (hiring panel).

What's the difference between Admin and Member roles?

Admins have full oversight: view all assessments (even private ones from colleagues), invite candidates for any org assessment, manage team members, promote/demote roles, and archive colleague drafts. Members can create and manage their own assessments, share templates with the team, and clone shared templates from colleagues.

How do shared templates work in my organization?

When you publish an assessment, you can toggle "Share with Org" to make it discoverable by your team. Members see three tabs: My Assessments, Pre-built Templates, and My Org Templates. Team members can clone your shared templates to customize and use for their own hiring. Your original assessment remains under your control.

Can organization admins see my private assessments?

Yes — Admins have oversight access to view private assessments, candidate submissions, and score reports from any team member. This is for HR compliance and cross-team coordination. Admins cannot edit or publish your work, but they can invite candidates and archive drafts.

How does organization branding work?

Admins can upload your company logo and set the organization name on the Account page. This branding automatically appears on all candidate-facing surfaces — assessment links, application forms, invite emails, and the IDE header — replacing individual company profiles for a consistent branded experience.

How much does it cost for hiring teams?

VibeLevel is free during Beta for all users. The Hire Plus plan (pay-as-you-go) is coming soon — no annual per-seat contracts. Organizations will have flexible pricing based on usage. Contact us at contact@vibelevel.ai for pricing details.
